Following on from Volunteering Week, which ran earlier in June, we are proud to reflect on the incredible efforts and achievements of our team.

This national celebration of the power of volunteering highlights the significant contributions made by volunteers across the UK.

At Myerson, we are delighted to have dedicated over 200 staff hours to charity work in the past 12 months, demonstrating our commitment to giving back to the community.

Here’s a look at some of our key initiatives and projects:

Volunteer Days at Manchester & Cheshire Dogs’ Home

Our team participated in three volunteer days at the Manchester & Cheshire Dogs’ Home, contributing to the care and support of homeless dogs.

These days were filled with activities like walking, feeding, and socialising with the dogs.

Greening Altrincham with Altrincham in Bloom

Our staff have volunteered with Altrincham in Bloom, an initiative responsible for maintaining the majority of the beautiful flower beds around Altrincham.

They also took care of the community vegetable patch along the road from our Altrincham office, which serves as a fundraiser for them since a local distillery buys their rhubarb to use in their rhubarb gin.

Our team got involved in planting, weeding, fertilising and dismantling a vandalised bench.

Altrincham in Bloom is run entirely by volunteers, and the opportunity showed us how crucial their work is in making Altrincham a beautiful place.

Book Collection for Local Schools

We organised a successful book collection drive in partnership with St. Vincent's Primary School, Navigation Primary School, Wellington School, and Blessed Thomas Holford Catholic College.

The collected books were distributed to students, fostering a love for reading and learning. This initiative helped provide educational resources to children who might not have easy access to books, supporting their academic growth and development.

Supporting Maggie’s Manchester

Our volunteers have also dedicated their time to Maggie’s Manchester, a support centre for people with cancer.

This centre offers professional support in a calm, friendly, and uplifting environment. Our team members have contributed by helping out in the wellbeing garden.

This experience has been profoundly rewarding for our volunteers and has made a positive impact on the lives of those affected by cancer.

Supporting Seashell Trust

The Seashell Trust is a charity dedicated to providing a creative, happy, and secure environment for children and young people with complex needs and additional communication challenges from across the UK.

Over the summer, our volunteers will be supporting the running of the CADS Activity Days, helping out with sports and activities for the children and giving their support.

A Culture of Volunteering

At the heart of our firm is a culture that values and encourages volunteering.

We understand that our success is intertwined with the well-being of our community, and we strive to foster an environment where giving back is part of our everyday practice.

To help with this, we provide all staff with one day per year to volunteer for any cause they are passionate about.

Our Ongoing Commitment

As we celebrate the accomplishments of Volunteering Week, we also look forward to the future with a renewed commitment to service. Volunteering is not just a one-week event for us; it is an integral part of our firm’s identity.

We are dedicated to continuing our support for the community through ongoing initiatives and partnerships and by encouraging our team to engage in meaningful volunteer work.

At Myerson, we are already planning our volunteering work for 2025. The team are looking forward to continuing to support the charities we worked with this year, as well as finding new volunteering opportunities.
